All candidates must have appropriate previous experience and proven skills and knowledge of the Supply Chain software market. All candidates must speak fluent English (other languages desirable) and be able to travel widely in EMEA, potentially for extended periods with very little notice.
 
 
JOB: Solution Strategist/Senior Solution Strategist
 
Responsibilities
 
Solution Strategists are brought into the customer and prospect engagement process early in a sales cycle to provide specific expertise in supply chain practice in the particular industry or domain area, and to relate this to the solutions offered by i2, which may be consulting services or software based. They work very closely with a Sales Client Executive to understand the prospect’s business and to diagnose key challenges and opportunities. They have the ability to lead business development work, demand generation, and provide solution domain expertise. They work as a team to define a value-based solution for the prospect and they create a sales strategy that will prove how i2 can offer a solution that will deliver potential value.
With his consultative approach, the Solution Strategist will be primarily responsible for creating presentation material, compelling software demos and business value proposals that address the prospect’s critical needs
The Solution Strategist needs to be able to communicate with Senior Executives in the customer’s business concerning best practice solutions with the emphasis on: process, solution design, metrics and organisational readiness. He or she should be able to carry this position into execution, by taking a primary role in delivering such consulting services, and should also be able to work as i2 Client Management/Program Management Executive if necessary.
 
 
The Solution Strategist:
 
·         Interviews executives at prospect companies to determine business needs or problems
·         Maps challenges to i2 solutions, whether based on Services or Software components
·         Assists in development of value propositions for proposed solutions
·         Creates customized demonstrations with the i2 software
·         Presents education sessions and software demonstrations to prospects
·         Participates in trade shows and other marketing events
·         Responds to prospect RFP’s
·         Maintains domain expertise, including the latest industry trends, challenges and best practices
·         Runs a complex Program with a prospect or customer, in PreSales phase involving both Business Process consulting and/or software implementation projects
·         Interacts with the Product Management and Product Marketing teams to ensure the solution fit to prospect’s specific business requirements
·         Support the Services Lead in the delivery of the implementation proposal
 
 
Requirements
 
·         This is a senior level position requiring previous pre-sales experience, industry knowledge and supply chain solutions knowledge
·         Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other technical discipline with 8 years experience or MSc/Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, Operational Research or Management Science and 6 years experience
·         Excellent computer skills with in-depth knowledge of supply chain management systems
·         In-depth knowledge of i2 or similar products and templates and technical architecture requirements
·         Ability to develop and maintain strong, productive relationships with customers, partners and consultants
·         Strong communicator, able to influence and collaborate at all levels to maximise problem resolution whilst effectively presenting information and responding to highly specialised technical questions
·         Highly developed analytical skills
·         Ability to function effectively in virtual teams that could be across the country or around the world
·         Action oriented, “Can do” attitude
·         Sales Consulting, Business Process Consulting and/or project management experience a plus
·         Fluent English and German (both spoken and written) – additional language skills very desirable.
-    Strongly preferred to live in Munich or a commutable distance to Munich as the job will be based in the Munich office.
